Capital & Centric granted planning permission by Liverpool council to redevelop building as a hotel

Developer Capital & Centric’s £19m redevelopment of Liverpool’s iconic Littlewoods Pools Building has been given planning permission by Liverpool council.

The developer is proposing a conversion of the derelict building into a 104-bed hotel, 50,000ft2 of business units and 50,000ft2 of offices. The Littlewoods Building, by architect Gerald de Courcey Fraser, was completed in 1938.

Tim Heatley, co-founder of Capital & Centric, said: “These magnificent buildings have been vacant for over 10 years, I’m excited by the thought of seeing them full of activity and life again.”
