Grimshaw and URS also part of team awarded contract for Birmingham to Manchester route

Mott MacDonald, in a team with Grimshaw and URS Corporation, has won an engineering contract for development of the proposed high-speed rail line between Birmingham and Manchester.

The contract, awarded by High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd, is to provide engineering design services for the new line’s infrastructure and rail operations.

The Birmingham to Manchester route is part of the recently announced high-speed rail network to connect Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds.

Gary Jandegian, president for infrastructure and environment at URS Corporation, said: “We look forward to working with our partners to help HS2 Ltd provide an efficient, reliable high-speed rail service to this important UK route.”
