Consulting engineer to advise on areas that most need improvement work in three-year deal.

Engineering consultancy Mouchel Parkman has won the £2m contract to advise Yorkshire Water on how best to upgrade its water supply network.

Mouchel Parkman will build hydraulic models of Yorkshire Water’s 69 water supply zones to show the areas that most need improvement work.

Yorkshire Water will then use the information to target its cleaning and renewal work on the areas of the network most in need. They said this will increase the efficiency of the work and decrease the disruption to its customers.

Glynn Wright, asset management director at Mouchel Parkman, said: “This is a great way to promote good communication and continue our good working relationship with Yorkshire Water.”

The three-year contract, which will run until 2008, has the option of a one-year extension.
