Indian construction firm bidding for four further projects in the region next year

Indian company Nagarjuna Construction has said it is hoping to build up to four projects in the UAE next year, if its bids are successful.

The firm, which is based Hyderabad, carries out most of its international work in the Gulf region and is already sitting on orders worth close to $820m (£540m) across the UAE.

It is one of seven firms that have qualified to build a series of dams in Oman, a government project in response to a cyclone that hit the coast last year. The primary objective of the dams, which will be in the Qurum and Al Amerat areas, is to protect against flooding.

One of the new projects that Nagarjuna is eyeing is a scheme to build an academic institution in Dubai.
