Surrey County Cricket Club and Arora hotel group plan redevelopment of Pavillion end of cricket ground

Surrey County Cricket Club has begun planning the next phase of development at the Oval, it announced today.

The proposals involve the improvement of existing facilities at the Pavillion end of the ground, coupled with the development of a new integrated stand and hotel design.

The plans have been developed in partnership with the Arora International Hotel Group.

The Brit Oval has recently competed the building of the iconic OCS stand, which opened in 2005. The new proposals affect facilities at the opposite end of the ground.

The work is targeted for completion in the summer of 2009, in time for the next Ashes series.
