Turnover at Nottinghamshire civil engineering and building company North Midland Construction fell 4.3% from £211.3m to £202.2m in the year ended 31 December 2008

Pre-tax profit fell 7.9% from £3.1m to £2.87m. Turnover at M&E arm Nomenca rose 31.9% to £41.7m but profit fell by 13% to £1.2m, which the company said was partly due to the collapse of Wrekin Construction. Robert Moyle, chairman and chief executive, said the company had implemented cost reduction measures.
