Beijing’s media centre is due to go live today, as 24-hour Olympic coverage begins.

The facility, designed by architect RMJM, is part of the 220,000m2 Beijing Olympic Green Convention Centre, which will host more than 20,000 journalists as well as fencing and shooting events in its two sports halls.

Eco-features include rainwater collection on the roof and an ice storage cooling system. Following the Games, it will become a convention centre with offices, apartments and two hotels.
