Dublin’s football and rugby stadium at Lansdowne Road has finally been given the go-ahead from the An Bord Pleana (the Irish planning appeals board).

The 50,000-seat ground, which is designed by HOK Sport, will cost £248m to redevelop and has suffered a number of delays and setbacks since the scheme was announced in January 2004. Buro Happold is the engineer on the project. A contractor has yet to be appointed.
