Housebuilder Persimmon Homes has completed phase one of its new scheme in Telford. The Ironstone development in Abrahams Way comprises 114 new homes including a range of two, three, four and five bedrooms.

Persimmon Homes is working with two other housebuilders to develop the 70 ha site.

Ironstone is a key scheme for national regeneration agency English Partnerships which aims to create more than 3,300 new homes along with offices, restaurants, bars, a primary school, parkland and shops.

The Ironstone scheme will fulfil 20% of the growth needed to meet Telford’s requirements for housing until 2018. A quarter of the planned homes will be affordable housing, split between shared ownership and social rented.

Anita Williams, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “In terms of new developments, there really isn’t anything like Ironstone in or around the region at present.”
