US authorities investigating death of construction worker after 20-storey site fall

A construction worker has fallen more than 20 storeys to his death, in Pittsburgh, US.

City homicide detectives and officials with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration were investigating at the scene yesterday.

The building where the accident occurred is being converted into condominiums. Police said they were not sure if the worker had fallen off the roof or out of a window, because there is no exterior scaffolding on the building.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and it is unclear which firm he was working for.
