Firm will target continued growth in London and the South-east

Redrow has put its Scottish business up for sale as it targets continued growth in London and the South-east.

The Scottish division accounted for 9% of the housebuilder’s £397m total turnover in the last financial year, ending 30 June 2010.

The Scottish business turned over £31m and made a small loss, Redrow said in a trading update to the City.

The housebuilder said it will continue its expansion drive in London and the South-east to increase the group’s average selling price.

Redrow expects to complete the sale of its Scottish business “in the coming months”.

The firm also reported positive trading figures for the start of the year, with its private order book and average sales price up on the same period last year.
