Student housing designed by Allies and Morrison
RG Carter has begun work on new student accommodation for King’s College in Cambridge.
Designed by Allies and Morrison, the scheme will be located on existing grounds on the city’s Cranmer Road and will see 59 rooms built around a shared garden. It will be built to Passivhaus standards with the scheme set to be completed next autumn.
The two buildings – called Cranmer Villa and the Green Building – have been designed to blend in with neighbouring buildings with the former featuring red brick walls and stone windows while the latter includes glazed terracotta cladding and a sustainable ‘green’ roof.
