Construction services firm RGCM has changed its name to RG Group to reflect the fact that it now offers a more comprehensive service.
The firm, which has carried out an internal review over the last year, said it was creating four operational areas – retail, commercial, distribution and consulting. The services it now offers include construction management, management contracting, design and build, project management and health and safety consultancy.

Managing director John Chadwick said this reorganisation would improve the services offered to clients such as J Sainsbury, Morley Fund Management and Ikea. He added that it would also help the company expand into new markets.

The firm, which was formed in 1989, was formerly one of three preferred construction managers used by Sainsbury. The supermarket chain changed to prime contractors last year but still uses RG's services.

In the past two years, RG has opened an office in Ireland in a joint venture with project manager Green PM. It has also started a strategic consultancy called Spire PM for financial institutions.
