Leading industry bodies join forces to tackle building control issues

An alliance has been formed to tackle industry wide building control issues as four bodies join together.

The Building Control Alliance is to be made up of the RICS, Association of Building engineers, Association of Consultant Approved Inspectors and Local Authority Building Control.

David McCullogh, RICS building control faculty board member, said: “I am delighted to be taking part in the Building Control Alliance. An efficient and dynamic building control system is integral to the construction industry and crucial to meeting government’s intentions.

“Presenting the industry’s views effectively and maximising the value of the work carried out by its representative bodies requires cooperation between its leading players. I think that the alliance has the potential to plug some of the gaps that exist.”
