Contract has £5.7m price tag

Wates-owned SES Engineering Services has won a £5.7m M&E contract at a mixed-use scheme Carillion is building on the outskirts of Manchester.

The work at Ashton-under-Lyne involves turning the site of former council offices into new office space for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council as well as 7,000sq m of space for Tameside College. Budget retailer Wilko will open a store on the ground floor.

The new four-storey is being built alongside the grade II Ashton Town Hall and the old Water Board building.
