A second terrace of 14 houses has been completed in Manchester’s Millennium Community, New Islington, by architect de Metz Forbes Knight.

As with the first terrace completed by FAT last year, each two-storey house has a courtyard facing the street and a garden at the back. But in style it is sober, sharp-edged and industrial, not unlike the neighbouring Victorian cotton mill, whereas its predecessor flaunted curly Dutch gables. The £1.4m scheme has an EcoHomes "Excellent" rating, and was developed by Urban Splash.
