Head office of Capita Symonds' parent company is sealed off after woman sustains injuries in small explosion

The head offices of Capita Group PLC have been evacuated today after a woman was injured by what is thought to have been a letter bomb.

The group which is the parent company of consultant Capita Symonds has closed it’s Victoria Street offices after a woman sustained minor injuries in a small explosion. The Capita building has now been cordoned off.

The company is yet to release a statement although it is understood that the woman was taken to hospital to have her injuries treated.

Bomb disposal experts were at the scene and Scotland Yard's anti-terrorism command was investigating.

Police were called to the scene just after 9:30 this morning and a spokesman has confirmed there was an explosion in one of the offices and that a small package appeared to be the source of the blast.
