Thirty housing providers have been shortlisted for the 2002 Building Homes Quality Awards. Winners of the awards, which are hosted by Building in association with the Housing Forum, will be announced at a dinner at the Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel in central London on 1 October.
The shortlist is:
  • Best company-wide sustainability strategy: Berkeley Homes, Countryside Properties, Fyne Homes, Laing Homes, Peabody Trust.
  • Best approach to partnering: East Dorset Housing Association, Laing Homes, Lovell Partnerships, Places for People Group, Sentinel Housing.
  • Best health and safety approach: Berkeley Homes, D Campbell & Co, Countryside Properties, Lovell Partnerships, Persimmon.
  • Innovation award: Integer, Laing Partnerships/Jamera, St James Homes, Sentinel Housing, West Kent Housing Association.
  • Best land and planning strategy: Berkeley Homes, Network Housing Association, Linden Homes, Persimmon.
  • Best quality improvement strategy: Greenwich Millennium Village, Hopkins Homes, Stamford Homes.
  • Best change strategy: Community Housing Association, London & Quadrant Housing Trust, Miller Homes, Stamford Homes.
  • Best options and choices initiative: (private sector) Laing Homes, Persimmon, Wimpey; (affordable sector) Higgins Construction, Kingfisher Housing Association, Leicester Housing Association, Lovell Partnerships.
  • Training/people development award: Black Country Housing and CSG, Higgins Construction, Lovell Partnerships, Places for People and Southdale Homes, Stamford Homes.
  • Best customer satisfaction improvement strategy: Berkeley Homes, Bowey Homes, Crest Nicholson Residential, Laing Homes, Lovell Partnerships.
  • Creative marketing award: Berkeley Homes, Bowey Homes, Crest Nicholson Residential, Miller Homes, Swansea Housing Association.

The top-performing private housebuilder and affordable housing provider will each receive a supreme award.
