French group sees overall revenue grow but construction division weakens

Turnover in Vinci’s construction arm has fallen 2.9% despite overall growth of 3.8% in the last quarter.

The French firm’s turnover was €9.7bn for the three months to 30 September, with total revenue standing at €25.2bn for the first nine months of the year – an 6.9% increase on the same period last year 2008/9.

Group turnover for construction in the year to 30 September stood at €10.4bn, down 2.9% compared to the same period in 2009 after exchange rates and acquisitions were factored in.

Vinci said the results confirmed the 5% growth in consolidated revenue it had predicted in September.
