Waco International's £31.1m purchase of Interlink Business Service makes it third biggest player in UK modular market.

aco International, the South African industrial services group, has bought Interlink Business Services for £31.1 million, doubling the size of its UK modular building business. The deal gives it a 12% share of the UK’s market, which is currently worth £600 million a year.

Interlink will merge with Waco’s existing UK operation Premier under the umbrella of Waco UK, making it the third-largest player in the modular and relocatable buildings market. Including its modular building hire business, Waco UK will boast a fleet of some 5500 units. The two companies will retain their separate brand identities.

Waco International chief executive Royden Vice said: “The merger gives Waco a strong platform from which to capture the very attractive growth opportunities available in the UK.”
