The Waterways Trust has announced the winners of this year’s Renaissance Awards, recognising best practice in waterway regeneration throughout Britain.

Among those commended was a scheme designed by architect Carey Jones for a dock scheme in Leeds. The Clarence dock project aims to regenerate a 15-acre brownfield site beside the River Aire, close to Leeds city centre. The development, which is due for completion in 2007, comprises office, residential, hotel, leisure, exhibition, retail and car parking space.
