Materials supplier spends £94m on industrial process piping components firm Frischkorn and building materials supplier Seigle.

Wolseley has spent £94m on two US acquisitions, industrial process piping components firm Frischkorn and building materials supplier Seigle.

The firm expects the transaction for John H. Frischkorn Jr. Incorporated to close on 30 November, conditional on the approval of members of the Frischkorn Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

Frischkorn has a branch network of 17 locations across six US states and its headquarters is in Richmond, Virginia.

On 1 November Wolseley acquired the assets of Seigle, which sells building materials including lumber and has 11 locations across Chicago and northern Illinois.

Charlie Banks, Wolseley’s group chief executive, said these acquisitions will help the company strengthen its presence in North America.

Wolseley has acquired 13 distribution businesses in Europe and North America for approximately £411m since the start of the financial year on 1 August 2005.

These acquisitions are expected to add £652m to group turnover in a full year.
