David Wilson Homes begins first phase of 1,500-home estate

David Wilson Homes has begun construction of the first phase of a 1,500-home estate overlooking Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire.

The developer, which is part of Barratt, has begun work on the first 421 houses to the west of the racecourse, which will be available to buy from the middle of next year.

Paul Crispin, managing director for David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “The Racecourse Newbury will offer a superb range of quality new homes, ranging from contemporary trackside apartments and executive houses, to townhouses in traditional crescents and squares, all set around a mature landscape of beautiful trees.

“Each element of the development is designed to complement its surroundings through its architecture and use of space.

“Residents will be able to enjoy access to the racecourse facilities year round, the Nuffield Health Club on site and a beautiful horse walk, leading into the course from the stable yard.”
