BBC Weather - in life I am an optimist, except when it comes to trusting the weather.

What was the last track you downloaded?

The Killers from iTunes.

What was the subject of the last email you received?

A schedule for the residential study in Sweden for the Executive MBA course I am currently completing.

What is your favourite gadget?

My iPod. Its simplicity of use and its practicality are tremendous. A traveller's favourite.

What's the most useful website you access for work?

Oddly enough, perhaps YouTube. There are some good thought leadership pieces on business and technology. YouTube allows you to get access to lectures by highly notable domain experts.

Social networking or face-to-face?

LinkedIn is great for keeping tabs on colleagues and contacts in your industry, but you can't beat the personal contact that you get from face-to-face.

Who is your favourite blogger?

Not my bag.

What's the best link you have ever been sent?

A clip about a Canadian film crew who were filming a street view and for some inexplicable reason a woman started stripping in front of them. Not pleasant but hilarious.

What was the last thing you bought online?

Playmobil crane and container ship for my son.

What's the funniest piece of spam you have received?

The 2008 Darwin awards - don't know why, but it made me laugh.
