Sketch of the week: 40 front doors in Frome

This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by architectural designer and illustrator Michael Paul Lewis and shows 40 individually hand-drawn illustrations of front doors in Frome.

Lewis says: “I have always been fascinated with front doors. They often communicate a great deal about the history of buildings and at the same time reveal stories of the individuals or families living inside.

“The small market town of Frome, just south of Bath boasts some amazing examples, each with a distinctive style and individual character. I discovered the area a few years ago and soon returned with my sketchbook to document as many of these beautiful doors as I could.”
