In response to overwhelming demand, the deadline for entries to the Building Awards 2016 has been extended to Friday 24 June.

The Building Awards are the construction industry’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence, dedicated to rewarding outstanding performance in the sector.

The awards ceremony, which attracts over 1,200 people, takes place on Tuesday 8 November 2016 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane. To quote Jack Pringle, managing director of Perkin+Will, attending last year’s ceremony:”These awards are not just for one little section or faction - these awards are for the whole industry.”

The awards will be looking for the projects, companies and people that have shaped the industry’s success over the past 12 months, across 21 categories. New developments in the market have been recognised with the introduction of four new categories; Product Innovation of the year, Refurbishment Project of the Year, Skills Initiative of the Year and CEO’s CEO of the Year.

Sarah Richardson, editor of Building magazine said: “We are very excited about the Building Awards, now in its 22nd consecutive year, and the record number of started entries.

“The UK construction market is developing significantly and we will recognise and celebrate the quality of this growth in November.”
