Building hosted a full day of keynote speeches, panel discussions, round-tables and networking and expo opportunities in the heart of the City

Building hosted the third annual Building the Future conference together with Housing Today Live in central London last week. An estimated 650 industry delegates took part in a packed day of speeches, discussions, networking and opportunities for exhibitors at 155 Bishopsgate in the heart of the City.

The day’s keynote speakers were Building Safety Regulator chair Andy RoeL&Q Group chief executive Fiona Fletcher-Smith and CLC chair and Mace executive chair Mark Reynolds.

There were a series of panel discussions and roundtables on the implications of the latest building safety regulations for project delivery, on how to decarbonise the UK’s existing building stock, on the social housing regulatory landscape, the need to use private finance to help fund major public infrastructure projects and on the challenges and opportunities of data centre development.

Building also launched its independent report into new infrastructure funding at the event. Then, in the evening, delegates joined those shortlisted for the 2025 Building Awards and Architect of the Year Awards for a party to celebrate the brightest and best of the industry.

Gleeds and Fenwick Elliott are the event’s headline sponsors.
