Persimmon Homes has promoted David Chipchase (left) to construction director. Steve Holmes was appointed contracts manager of the South Yorkshire division.

Jenny Leighton has joined Allison Homes as area sales manager for the southern sector of its Lincolnshire arm.

Consulting engineer White Young Green has announced four promotions in its Bristol office. Simon Witts has been made associate director; Robert Harrhy, Matthew Grist and Andrew Griffiths have all been made associate.

Martyn Gregory has been promoted to associate director of architect and town planners Peter Taylor Associates.

Architectural practice The Harris Partnership has promoted Nicholas Charlesworth to director.

Architect and urban planner Burrell Foley Fischer has promoted Michael Betts from associate to member. Anna Joynt and Matthew Lunn have both been made associates.

Support services firm Dudley Bower Services has appointed John O'Sullivan to the board as commercial director. DBS is a division of the John Mowlem-owned Aqumen Group.

Dr Tim Broyd, group research and innovation director at Atkins, has been appointed chief executive of research organisation CIRIA. He succeeds Dr Peter Bransby, who retires in October after more than 16 years as director general.

The British Woodworking Federation has appointed Sharjeel Khawaja product manager for its BWF-Certifire fire door and doorset scheme.
