Firm promotes former group corporate development director

May Gurney Integrated Services has appointed Mark Hazlewood to its board as group finance director.

Hazlewood, 45, joined the firm in November 2010 as group corporate development director, and led the successful acquisition and integration of Turriff and TransLinc.

A former director of finance at Staffordshire Water, commercial finance director at Homeserve Emergency Services, and group commercial director at Anglian Home Improvements Group, Hazlewood also gained a PhD in immunology before training as a chartered accountant.

Company chairman Margaret Ford said Hazlewood’s extensive experience of the support services sector and “deep operational knowledge of May Gurney” would “prove invaluable” to the company’s continued growth.

Matt Stevens resigned from the May Gurney board on Hazlewood’s appointment.
