Re: Do you recognise these people (24 June, page 41)? Yes, I am one of them!

It’s the Fitzroy Robinson Partnership class of 1988 – this photograph accompanied an article in Building on 5 February 1988 called “Fresh Visions”.

On the left is Kevin Dash, 65, who left FRP in 1991 and is now running Kevin Dash Architects, working in Beirut and on the controversial residential tower next to Tate Modern in central London.

Second from the left is me. Now 48, I left FRP in 1993, formed Hurley, Robertson and Associates – now John Robertson Architects – employing about 40 staff and concentrating on projects in central London including One Great St Helens, the Daily Express building in Fleet Street and One Knightsbridge Green. We are also working in Copenhagen and opening an office in Dubai.

Third from the left is Nancy Cogswell, 51, who left FRP in 1994 and formed Cogswell Horne.

She is now with the Manser Practice.

On the right is Peter Mlodzianowski, 62, who remained with FRP until a couple of years ago. He is now retired, but does consultancy work in Poland and developments in Buckinghamshire.

It was kind of you to resurrect the photograph of the gang of four. Although we all went our separate ways we enjoyed our time together at FRP and I think we all learned a lot there that has held us in good stead ever since.

If I were to win your prize of £25 and you publish this it would be my intention to donate the money and a further £75 to the Architects’ Benevolent Society.
