JT Emanuel (28 August, page 28) has only part of the story when he suggests the consultation over parts L and F of the Building Regulations is 800 pages

An integral part of the process is, for non-domestic buildings, the National Calculation Method (117 pages) and the iSBEM calculation software (download 13MB), and something similar for SAP for domestic uses.

This suggests that the only people who are in a good position to comment are those who wrote the consultation in the first place. I wonder whether we are at the stage where the communities department ought to fund an independent “devil’s advocate”?
