For reasonable adjudicators’ fees … well, you only have to ask

John Redmond’s article “Life On The High Fees” (26 April, page 81) is correct to point out the ridiculously high fees charged by some adjudicators.

However, he should know that the RICS will nominate an adjudicator at or below the rate of fees stipulated by the applicant in its application form for a nomination – for example, an adjudicator’s rate not to exceed £200 per hour. It is a procedure I have successfully used over the last three to four years when seeking a nomination for an adjudicator from the RICS.
