Emma is founding director and chair of Women in Sustainable Construction and Property

Emma Nicholson

Emma is founding director and chair of Women in Sustainable Construction and Property (WSCP). She has over 15 years’ private consultancy experience in the built environment and has worked on a number of major refurbishment projects in the UK, primarily around London. 

Emma was seconded to the London 2012 Olympics as part of LOCOG’s sustainability team for nine months as a venues sustainability manager and environmental compliance manager. She environmentally audited four competitive venues (Hadleigh Farm, North Greenwich Arena, Excel and Lee Valley White Water Rafting Venues, all the athlete training venues and a number of off-park venues.

As the founding director and chair of WSCP, Emma regularly contributes to industry environmental discussions, organises events on environmental issues and business leadership skills in both London and Leeds, and participates in panel discussions and presentations on sustainability. She was the previous chair of the Chartered Institute of Building Sustainability Strategy Group from 2010 – 2013 and is currently an IEMA steering group member and a chartered environmentalist.
