The second day of the Little Britain Challenge Cup brings the event’s first races

The first race day on Friday kicked off with a strong wind and fair weather, perfect for the crews who were raring to go. The LBCC team managed to get three races in and I’m delighted to say that Domus won the first one in the Sun Sail class.

Then it was time for some serious networking, starting with a pontoon party hosted by Lakesmere and informal drinks in the pub followed by the official events including a champagne reception at the Royal Yacht Squadron, and the ever popular barbecue and crew party at the Royal Ocean Racing Club.

What always makes me smile at this event is how friendly and open everyone is. For me, it’s one of the best networking events our industry has to offer - no suits and pressed shirts, just sailing gear and trainers. Perfect!

Day two of racing beckons - more to follow…
