The Science Museum

The museum provides eight galleries as well as the Wellcome Wing for parties. The Wellcome Wing has a simulated space ride, eight floors of interactive exhibits, a 420-seat Imax cinema, and dining areas for up to 700 people. It costs £6500-10,000 to hire and is available for breakfasts from 7am to 9.45am and from 6.30pm to 3am. Contact the events department on 020-7942 4340.

The Backroom at St Martin's Lane

For a smaller crowd, head to this Philippe Starck white marble extravaganza complete with private terrace, crystal chandelier, and gold, gilt and white upholstered chairs. It caters for up to 65 people and costs £500 from 6pm. Contact 020-7300 5500.

Tower 42
The International Finance Centre, 25 Old Broad Street, EC2
The Vertigo champagne and seafood bar on the 42nd floor of the former NatWest tower is the highest bar in Europe. Contact 020-7877 7842 for level 42 and 020-7877 2424 for the Twentyfour bar on the 24th floor.
