Liverpool Lime Street station, all lines of which reopened on Monday following a 23-day upgrade as part of Phase One of its major transformation. Engineers replaced almost 2,000m of track, redesigned and lengthened platforms and built two new ones, as well as installing a modern signalling system. Even though the lines are now open again, upgrade work will continue into next year.
