Glasgow School of Art’s Mackintosh Building, an iconic art nouveau building designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, was destroyed by fire on 15 June. The grade A-listed  building, completed in 1909, had already suffered a major fire in 2014, which gutted the Mackintosh library. At the time of going to press, hopes were raised that the facade of the building could be saved.
