Sketch of the week: Russian industrial constructivism, Moscow

This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Architects of Invention. Director Niko Japaridze says: “This classic example of Russian industrial constructivism is one of three identical buildings in Moscow, but the only one – thanks to our persistence and intervention – that will be refurbished and upgraded. We felt it essential to retain the iconic building plan and keep the new elements distinctly separate. The mixed-use building will house retail, cafes and a restaurant with an outdoor terrace within the facade and an aparthotel at the rear.”
