This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Gian Kundi, partner in The Tooley and Foster Partnership, and is of Francesco Borromini’s San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane in Rome. Kundi says: “In my final year of Part II, I was writing a dissertation on 15th-century Rome architect Borromini and his influence on modern architecture. I took a trip to Rome to have a closer look at Borromini’s work and fell in love with the iconic masterpiece of Baroque architecture that is San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane. I sat on the street junction and drew this picture amongst all the hustle and bustle of the passing traffic. The undulating facade is indeed non-classical and paved the way to modern architecture.”
Day Two of the Ecobuild event in March 2016 will be all about architecture and will feature top architects as guest speakers as well as hundreds of exhibitors. Click here for the latest conference programme, and to register FREE to attend.
