A networking group for young professionals has been launched by the Association of Consulting Engineers.
ACE assistant director Craig Beaumont said the Progress group, launched on Tuesday, was intended to let consulting engineers and other professionals share information and expertise and take part in discussions on the industry and its image.

He said a group management team would be set up to determine if extra training was needed. He said: "These people will be running companies in the future, but as the industry becomes more multidisciplinary, they may need more training in areas such as business skills." The group will be chaired by WS Atkins regional manager Eloy Mazon. He said: "It is important to retain knowledge."
