Architect Ron Arad Associates has won planning permission for the National Design Museum in Israel.

The £5m project for the municipality of Holon will cover 2320 m2 and house two galleries. The main gallery will appear to be suspended in the air without any visible structures or columns supporting it. Project architect Asa Bruno said: “The challenge is to create an iconic building that does not overshadow the exhibits.” The scheme will start on site next April.
