Architect’s proposal is second project for University College

Belsize Architects has submitted plans for “domestically scaled” student accommodation for University College Oxford.

The six low-rise buildings containing 30 units would be arranged around a central courtyard.

Private en-suite bedroom-and-study units will be grouped in clusters of four to six with communal facilities.

The site, on Banbury Road, adjoins “Stavertonia” – a complex of buildings owned by the college in north Oxford.

This is the second project for the college by Belsize Architects which also designed its RIBA Award-winning boathouse.

Belsize director Shahriar Nasser said: “We are very pleased to be commissioned again by University College Oxford to develop their estate. This is a prestigious project and an exciting opportunity to develop our education portfolio.”
