Autodesk takes stake in Gehry Technologies as starchitect’s firm moves into BIM consultancy

Autodesk is taking a stake in the technology company founded by Frank Gehry and helping to turn it into a BIM consultant.

Autodesk will provide Gehry Technologies with support and training in its BIM solutions including Autodesk Design Suites, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk Valut.

Autodesk and Gehry said the deal would enable construction professionals to realise the benefits of BIM.

Speaking about the partnership Gehry said: “Autodesk products have been in our toolbox for many years, and now this relationship will help drive our shared goal of industry transformation by helping architects, engineers, contractors and owners get better value and impact from technology.”

Dayne Myers, Gehry Technologies CEO, said: “This new business relationship with Autodesk is a key element of our growth strategy and will enable Gehry Technologies to expand its existing consulting offerings to better assist firms across the globe that are transitioning their businesses to support a BIM workflow.”

Projects Gehry Technologies has worked on include the Beijing National Stadium and the Burj Dubai Tower in Dubai.
