Contenders for this year’s awards revealed today

Big name contractors, architects, consultants and projects have made the shortlist for this year’s Building Awards, announced today.

Projects that made the list range from Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium in London to Heatherwick Studio’s landmark Vessel building in New York.

ISG, Lendlease, Winvic, Wates and last year’s winner Mace have been shortlisted for the Major Contractor of the Year, over £300m, category.

A number of firms have multiple nominations this year, including engineer Mott MacDonald, consultant WSP, and architect HLM.

A new addition for 2019 is the Office Refurbishment Project of the Year, which was separated from the Refurbishment Project of the Year due to the outstanding quality of entries.

Other categories include the CEO of the Year award and the Female Leadership Award.

The awards take place on 5 November at the Grosvenor House hotel in central London.

The full shortlist is shown below.
