Architect SOM also working on scheme in east of French capital
A team featuring Bouygues and US firm SOM is preferred developer for a redevelopment on the eastern edge of Paris.
The team, which is led by Bouygues Immoblier UrbanEra, the contractor’s communities development arm, also features French practice Ateliers 2/3/4/.
The Charenton-Bercy project is one of 52 government initiatives on the outskirts of the French capital which make up the Grand Paris development plan for the wider metropolis.
“The plan builds upon Grand Paris Amenagement’s goals of linking central Paris to its suburban neighbours,” said Bouygues Immoblier chief executive Emmanuel Desmaizieres.
It will include an 180m tall hotel and residential tower along with a new rotunda building that will form part of a tech hub for the city.
