BRITISH quantity surveyors EC Harris and Gleeds have won hotel jobs in the Polish capital Warsaw.
EC Harris is set to work on the £43.3m Hotel Inter-Continental Warsaw, developed by Bass Hotels & Resorts. The 45-storey hotel will have a swimming pool on the top floor, the highest in Europe. It will act as employer's representative and provide site supervision throughout construction.

Gleeds will also act as client's representative and lender for a £33.3m, 366-bedroom hotel that makes up the fifth phase of the Atrium office and retail scheme.

The development, in the financial district of the city, will see 25,000 m2 of floor space spread over 22 storeys.

Contractor Skanska will develop the site after winning a competition organised by Gleeds.

Construction is due to start at the end of the year while completion is scheduled for 2003.

Gleeds said developers/investors in Eastern Europe were increasingly looking for independent consultants.
