The developer behind the revamp of Deutsche Bank’s former City of London headquarters has been given planning for a £100m expansion of a data centre site on the outskirts of the capital.
The job is Castleforge’s first data centre scheme, having announced its entry into the data centre market at the end of 2024 with the acquisition of the 11,800sq m Redhill Data Centre Campus in Surrey in partnership with data centre operator Galaxy Data Centers.
The project team for the work includes QS and project manager Gardiner & Theobald, M&E consultant Red Engineering and architect TTSP. Planning consultant is Rapleys while Abstract Consulting is on structures.

Castleforge, which is behind the revamp of Deutsche Bank’s former HQ at 75 London Wall being carried out by Multiplex, said it had been eyeing opportunities in the data centre market for some time amid surging demand for data which is outstripping supply.
Castleforge head of investments Mike Adccok said: “Demand for capacity in and around London continues to outpace supply and this consent enables us to bring forward the additional power and scale required to serve enterprise, hyperscale and edge customers.”
The work was given planning by Reigate & Banstead borough council with Castleforge promising further announcements soon.
The Redhill campus, located within the Foxboro business park south of Croydon, is currently occupied by three buildings providing a combined 26mva of power, with its 26 existing tenants including Fortune 500 enterprises and businesses working in financial services and AI.
