Producer says drama about young immigrants in Britain will be about 'Polsih people screwing over other Poles'

A 30-year-old construction worker is to be one of the central characters in a new Polish television programme described as the Polish version of Eastenders.

The drama, Londynczycy, focuses on young Polish immigrants moving to Britain.

The show, to be aired on Polish television, will include the construction worker, living in Ealing.

Produced by London-based Andrzej Szajna, the show has been filmed on a £3m budget at locations across the capital.

Szajna said: "All of the scenarios are based on true stories."

He insisted that Britain would be shown in a positive light: "It is Polish people who are screwing over other Poles, which is so often the case in real life."
