More than 100,000 A-level students to be texted after results day, as part of positive image campaign.

More than 100,000 18 year olds will be targeted using text messages from the sector skills council ConstructionSkills this week as they find out their A-level results.

The messages will encourage students to “take another look” at construction as a possible career and will push them to look at the website www.bconstructive.co.uk .

The drive is part of the positive image campaign to make construction a more appealing potential employer for Britain’s next working generation.

ConstructionSkills estimates that the industry will need an average of 23,500 more people every year between now and 2008 as 117,500 new positions will be created by planned and new projects.
