National Offender Management Service event will inform firms about prison construction and maintenance

Consultants and contractors are being invited to a prison building suppliers' day by the National Offender Management Service.

The body, which manages the prison and probation services for the Ministry of Justice, said it would hold a market engagement day on 15 July in a bid to talk to the market about building strategies.

The event is designed to inform interested firms about the scope and breadth of the body’s construction and maintenance workload and current procurement methods and seek industry opinion on procurement of future projects.

Work on NOMS prisons estates is currently delivered through contractor and consultant frameworks. All those with an interest can attend the suppliers day, regardless of whether they are a current supplier or not.

A separate suppliers day will be held in due course to discuss the development of PFI prisons, the body said.

Those interested in attending on the 15th should email mike.harrington@noms.gsi.gov.uk
